The first movement is about change as a discipline of the work itself—the ability to recognize when something can be better, to make the judgment, and to carry that judgment through. Not change for spectacle or disruption, but the kind that comes from understanding a system deeply enough to know what should remain, what should move, and what must be redesigned. Responsible charge lives in that tension between continuity and invention: holding the direction of the work while remaining free to alter its course. These songs occupy that space, where precision becomes motion, judgment becomes action, and authorship carries responsibility for what comes next.
Inspired by California’s 2026 Engineers Act, Responsible Charge is a series of movements embodying the independent control, skill, and judgment of a professional in charge. Each track channels initiative and direction—no one else redefines the work.
